Meet the Santos Family – A Story of Hope in Cuatro
In the heart of the Cuatro community, where narrow alleyways wind between makeshift homes with tin roofs and dirt floors, lives the Santos family. Joel, the father, works long hours doing backbreaking construction work, earning just 500 pesos a day when work is available. His wife, Aling Maria, does her best to supplement their income by cleaning homes, bringing in about 1,000 pesos each month. Despite their hard work, their combined income is barely enough to put food on the table for their four young children: Hannah (10), James (7), Jessica (5), and Jason (4).
Their home is small, built from salvaged wood and rusty metal sheets, but it’s filled with love and laughter. Joel and Maria dream of something better for their children—something they never had themselves: a good education. That dream started to come true when Hannah, James, and Jessica were accepted at Cuatro Christian School, a place where learning, faith, and opportunity come together. The kids wake up early, often without breakfast, excited to put on their worn uniforms and head to school. Hannah hopes to become a teacher, James loves math and says he wants to build things “better than Tatay,” and Jessica draws flowers and sunshine on every page she touches.
But the cost of education is still a burden too heavy for the Santos family to carry alone. Tuition is $300 per year per child, and while they do everything they can to contribute—$20 a month per child—they simply cannot make up the difference. That’s where you come in. For just $70 a month, you can help cover the remaining cost for one of their children, giving them the chance to continue their education and break free from the cycle of poverty.
Your support doesn’t just pay for school—it gives hope. It tells Hannah, James, and Jessica that their dreams matter. That someone believes in them. And that God is making a way, even in the poorest corners of Cuatro. Will you be the one to help carry this dream forward?
