STORIES FROM VOLUNTEERS

"I'm totally learning the art of multi-tasking while here at the Children's Home. The caretakers here are amazing. In the nursery alone they juggle looking after infants to 5 yr olds. It's a beautiful chaos. I love the chaotic moments, but as any mom or caretaker would say, it's the quiet moments that steal your heart. Singing this sweet girl & this bitty, bitty baby to sleep & giving them some quality time.  There are lots of kiddos around the world that could use some extra love, hugs, attention, song singing, etc. If this is something that makes your heart throb, I encourage you to find a way to do it!"

Tenley Molzahn / Independent Volunteer / 2015

"Being in Manila at KIDS has wrecked my heart...I've spent the past week at a children's home loving on sweet babies that I now don't want to leave, when a week ago that's all I wanted to do. My circumstances have felt flawed and imperfect, which gives me all the more reason to praise the One who IS perfect and could never be flawed. Amazing things can happen when you press in to the things around you and seek Jesus in the mess of life."

Giving children true homes

Children that come into our care come for all sorts of reasons, some are abandoned, others found lost in markets, others have been found by our social workers due to neglect and/or abuse.  When children come into our care our mission is simple: to provide for the various needs of each and every child essential to their healing and development for a brighter future by enhancing their total well-being.  We try and maintain 50 children in our home at all times with the goal of giving each child the absolute best life possible.  If that means finding adoptive families, then we joyfully unite our children with new forever families to love them and live alongside them, but if that means keeping them in our care and provide them with a Christ-centered haven with a family environment, then we joyfully do that as well.  Ultimately, our home can be summed up by the following: The New Faith Family Children’s Home exists to provide food, shelter, and God's love to the orphaned, neglected, abused, and abandoned children of the Philippines. Our staff strives to promote an atmosphere of trust, health and safety for the children God brings our way. We hope that all of our children will live Christ-centered lives, as they give their God-given talents and abilities back to Him.

WORDS FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THE CHILDREN'S HOME

Des is our director of the Children's Home that fights every single day to love the children of the Philippines through saving them from a life of neglect or on the streets.  He is devoted to showing children the love of God.  We're currently making a video for you to hear more of his heart!  Stay tuned!

YOU CAN BE A PART OF THIS TOO

The Children’s Home is open to visitors Monday - Saturday from 9am - 12am and then again from 3pm - 5pm. Activities at the Children’s Home will vary depending on the age of children you are with, but could include sports, crafts, reading, movie nights, English games, tutoring, evening devotionals, worship, etc.  Our volunteers, whether families, groups, or individuals, have loved our children's home year after year and we believe you will too!

MOMENTS CAPTURED AROUND THE HOUSE

Our social workers work hard to find forever families for our children. Since the opening of our home in 2005, 39 children have been adopted. It is a victory every time a child from the home walks out of the gate with his or her forever family. For those who will not be adopted, an individualized plan is created to help each child succeed as an independent adult in the Filipino society.
