“Some people leave footprints in our lives, and we will never be the same.” This thought-provoking quote was shared by one of our teachers from a seminar she attended. This month we are noting just a few of the many special friends of CCS who are leaving lasting footprints in the lives of our students.
Passing It On -- Over the recent semester break, our CCS grade 9 students joined together to share lessons they had learned in their “Values Education” class to younger students in their community. (See the above and adjacent pictures.) Our grade 9 students prepared songs and activities and some even gave snacks to the children. We are so proud
of our students and their heart to communicate about God with others. Who knows the lasting footprints in the hearts of these little children!
High Praises -- In November our students received their semester grades, and we were proud to recognize 87 awardees for sports achievements, perfect attendance and academic excellence awards. Congratulations to our students, parents and teachers for your faithful work to achieve excellence in academics and character! With each passing year, each new grade level is showing your footprints in their lives.
Going Beyond -- A year ago Dewey and Ellen Bland initiated the Beyond CCS program to help students get the help they needed to continue their education. They are working with 17 students attending six different school. The Blands meet with the students weekly to provide encouragement, accountability and to provide funds for food and transportation. The picture below shows the students sharing a birthday celebration. The Blands, having just reviewed grade cards, reported that most of the students are maintaining and some even exceeding grades they received at CCS. We are so proud of these students and their hard work. To the Blands and those of you who are supporting this program, you are making an indelible footprint in these students’ lives.
More Building -- For more than a year now, Emil Kvick (see collage below) from Sweden has been teaching our Grades 9 and 10 boys woodworking. How exciting for these boys to be learning hands-on skills that build into their lives now and for the future! Thank you, Emil, for investing your time and skills in the lives of these boys. You are leaving a definite footprint. They will never forget the time you have spent with them.
Making Friends -- In November students from Seoul Foreign School and Morrison team (Taiwan) similarly left footprints in the lives of our students by playing sports with them, making crafts, and sharing their lives and God’s Word. Also Pastor Simon Kibere shared at our Chapel Service about God’s love, reminding our students that they are valued and are not alone. Thank you, each one, for spending time with our students. We look forward to you coming again!
High school Update -- Please continue to pray with us regarding planning, building and fund raising for our new high school school. Our prayer is to have at least Phase 1 ready in early 2019. Please remember us if you are able to give.
Each of your footprints are unique. May you be encouraged to know that you are making a significant difference in the lives of the CCS students and their families.
May each of you be blessed this Christmas season!
