Anticipating summer vacation is a thrill for every student as they look forward to sleeping in, playing outside, watching TV…until they hear that they have to go to summer school. Ugh! But when you are learning, that too can be fun...just as Teacher Ahya had fun making this Youtube video for you, CCS Summer Class 2018.
Due to smaller classes, individualized attention and extra practice, summer classes can make all the difference in getting over that hump in learning to read, develop comprehension and strengthen math skills.
Prior to summer classes, our teachers received special training to capitalize on this one-month period of summer school. By the end, the progress was evident. The teachers were excited and the students proud of their new-found success.
Kindergarten teacher Joi Ann said she was so blessed by the students’ presence each day and their eagerness to learn.
Teacher Barbara described the time with the students as “a big help in preparing them for their next school year.”
All of our 6th grade students were required to attend summer classes to prepare them for the transition to 7th grade, for which the expectations are much greater…and not just academically. Our high school teachers do a great job of emphasizing character development as they build in the lives of these fledgling adults. Our 6th grade teachers worked closely with our 7th grade teachers, gaining a better understanding of what is required of the students to ready them for 7th grade.
The donated award cards shown here were a big hit and encouragement to the students and their parents as they celebrated the successes achieved during the past month.
The 2018-2019 school year is just around the corner, starting in mid June. Workers are finishing up some remodeling that is enabling our kindergarten and grades 1-6 to all be in the same compound area. The teachers are excited to get their classrooms ready for the new school year.
A special thanks to two American World Race volunteers, Katie and Kara, who were trained to work with our Filipino reading teacher to teach Filipino reading skills. They left us knowing some Tagalog and loving some great students! Learn how you too can come volunteer at Kids IM.
Thank you to all who give in a myriad of ways to make it possible for Cuatro Christian School to impact the lives of these students for Christ.
