What do you get when you combine the synergy of paint, hammers, lesson planners, training and persons willing to help? Let’s find out!
This past month, visiting volunteer Jim Burton, has been painting elementary classrooms, and he supplied the paint! Walking into freshly painted classrooms is sure to perk up the spirits of our students and teachers. Thanks, Jim and Jeffery (KIM painter)!
Skillfully swinging hammers, KIM construction workers broke out walls at our elementary school, transforming six small, heat-stifling rooms into three big, airy ones! The change will not only help our students to learn in a more comfortable setting, but will also give more flexibility in the use of our space and resources. Thanks, Pastor Nick and crew!
Earlier this year, student teachers from Taylor University donated supplies and teacher lesson plan books. All the CCS teachers are using their planners to prepare for the start of the new school year, June 13. Teacher Ahya, shown here, is planning lessons for elementary MAPEH (music, art, PE and health). It is great fun to see the teachers happily using their planners. Thank you, Taylor University!
Summer school went well as teachers applied strategies they learned during training by KIM missionary Donna Wolfe. The goal was to focus on reading comprehension and basic math skills to help students move on to their next grade level. Donna said she saw some great teaching going on this summer. Here are three boys who attended faithfully and experienced great progress in their learning. Thank you, Donna and CCS teachers!
To answer the earlier question, what do you get when you bring together individuals, their skills and resources, working together to serve others? Happy transformed lives!
Thank you, for joining with us to accomplish what none of us could do by ourselves.
If you would like to help further with some start-of-the-school-year funding needs for school uniforms, student desks and school supplies, please let us know. To God be the glory as He continues to use each of us to impact and transform the lives of these children.
