While many of you are enjoying summertime, the Philippine school schedule is in full swing.
All of our teachers and administrators are busy getting the school year off to a good start. During this time our high school teachers were surprised by a visit from several past CCS 10th grade graduates, who are now completing high school at other schools. (CCS only offers coursework through 10th grade.)

Christina Morillo, who has finished 11th grade and is now in her senior year, expressed her gratefulness to the Lord and to CCS where she said she had learned to work hard, to develop good relationships with her teachers and fellow students, and to value the sacrifices of her parents. She said that these lessons have carried over to help her be successful in senior high. “We have to always remind ourselves to study hard, to review and to do our requirements even if we do not feel like doing them…and to obey our teachers because they are called by the Lord to fulfill His good plans for us. These are the choices we have to choose for our character to be molded,” said Christina.
What a motivating reminder to our teachers that God is continuing His work in our students beyond our doors and enabling them to move forward in their dreams and the fulfillment of God’s plans for them. The labors of these teachers and your investment in these students’ lives are not in vain because God cares for them and is faithful.

Following are snapshots of student life during the first few months of the 2017-2018 school year.
Thirty-seven 6th grade students enjoyed a week of English Camp at Faith Academy, hosted by Teach Beyond. Our teachers reported that the Teach Beyond staff did an excellent job to make this week a memorable teaching experience for our students to learn English. One student explained that through the week her heart was touched, her mind relaxed and her spirit lifted high. Thank you Teach Beyond and Faith Academy for giving our students this incredible experience.

CCS teacher Joy Panes has taken on 40+ new students who enrolled for violin lessons this school year. Ms Joy said that this number will be trimmed down based on attendance and diligence in reviewing the lessons. There will also be a violin recital soon. We look forward to sharing with you more about this exciting program for our students. We are praying for more violins. :D

We are celebrating Nutrition Month for the month of July. The students are being taught Zumba by our Grade 10 students.
